Kelsea Ballerini's 'Miss Me More' Performance at the CMA Awards Was All About Facing Your Insecurities
It’s not even a question that Kelsea Ballerini‘s performance of “Miss Me More” was the best of the night at the 2018 CMA Awards at the Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday (November 14) in Nashville, Tenn.
However, there was a bigger message that you might’ve missed from it.
“It’s the first performance of ‘Miss Me More,’ and it’s different,” Kelsea told ET ahead of hitting the stage. “We spent two full days with a choreographer. We have 16 dancers, and basically, every dancer represents the things that you have to fight away from yourself, so like, insecurity or fear or anger or whatever it is that you struggle with, and it’s the push and pull of those things throughout your life.”
She added that “that’s what the whole song is about — you get through something.”
“In my case, it was a relationship years ago, and I looked in the mirror, and I lost myself. How did I do that? Now I have to figure out who I am now. And it was fighting through those insecurities to get there,” Kelsea added.
