The mini-movie center on an aging and lonely Chinese-Canadian mother who is suffering from empty nest syndrome.

One day, she receives an unexpected second chance at motherhood when she makes a dumpling that comes to life as a boy.

Bao was directed by Domee Shi and produced by Becky Neiman-Cobb; and made history as the first of 35 Pixar shorts to be directed by a woman.
