Lucy Hale Actually Auditioned For Fox's 'Rent: Live'

The cast of Rent: Live is everything we imagined it to be – but then, we hear that Lucy Hale auditioned for it, and now we need to have her in it!

Speaking with Parade, the 29-year-old actress revealed that she went out for the project, but didn’t specify what role.

“I actually auditioned for the Rent that they’re doing right now. I’ve auditioned for a couple of them, and I’ve gotten close, and then things just didn’t work out,” Lucy shared. “I would definitely love to do that.”

She continues, hoping to re-kickstart her music career once again: “I think at some point, it’ll work out in some way, shape, or form, but I love music, and I think that if I can find a way to utilize it through acting, I think that that more works for where I’m at in life right now.”

Although Lucy didn’t a get a role in Fox’s live event, she will be watching.

“I am excited to see Rent. I think that they found a really good cast, and I’m excited to see what they do with it.”
