Storm Reid Attends National Day of Racial Healing Event in LA
Storm Reid is all smiles while arriving for the 2019 National Day of Racial Healing event held at Array on Tuesday afternoon (January 22) in Los Angeles.
The 15-year-old actress joined director Ava Duvernay, Eva Longoria and more at the annual meet up which is a national, community-based process of transformative, sustainable change, addressing the historic and contemporary effects of racism.
Speaking with Teen Vogue, Storm opened up about the event, saying, “To heal racially, we have to love, and remember race is just a human construct. We can combat intolerance and racism with love. The love that we have for ourselves, our culture, and our people can be used to help us.”
She added later on, “We have every right to feel the way we do, but we can’t neglect unconditional love. That’s what I feel like is going win at the end of the day. One word: LOVE. Love over hate. Love over indifference. Love over ignorance.”
