Sofia Carson Opens Up About Almost Missing Out On The Role of Evie For 'Descendants'

You probably didn’t know that Sofia Carson once auditioned for Liv and Maddie, did you?

Did you also know that she was first shot down for the role of Evie in Descendants, too?

Speaking to Cosmopolitan, the 25-year-old actress shared that when she first started out in Los Angeles after attending college, she was going to “200 auditions in that year.”

Sofia told the glossy in their “How I Made It” series that it was during her Liv and Maddie audition that she read for Evie.

“I walked into the room, and Kenny Ortega was there, which to me was crazy, because he’s absolutely iconic,” she recalls, before revealing that she was passed on.

Sofia continues, “Of course, it’s always incredibly difficult to hear the word ‘no,’ because you want to go ‘Am I not good enough? Why not me? Or, what did they have that I didn’t have?’”

However, a month later, they changed their minds. She got the call to read again for the role and the rest is history.
