Yara Shahidi Hopes People Do Read 'The Sun is Also A Star' After Seeing The Movie

The 19-year-old actress recently opened up to BET about her summer reading list and shared that she hopes fans of her new movie, The Sun is Also a Star, pick up a copy of the book by Nicole Yoon.

“I hope people read the book because it’s such a beautiful [interpretation],” Yara says.

“Whether you watch the movie first or whether you’ve already read the book; I think it’s like such a great pairing because there’s so many things that the movie does a little differently as well so many things that the book really goes into depth about that’s really, like, incredibly written.”
