Dove Cameron Says Her Newest Role Is More Who She Is Than Her Disney Roles Ever Were

Dove Cameron is coming into her own!

The 23-year-old actress and singer is starring in her “dream role” as Clara in The Light in the Piazza on Broadway.

In a new interview with British Vogue, Dove revealed that Clara is more “her” than any of her Disney characters have ever been – even though she continues to love her work with Disney and everything the brand has done for her.

“Everyone is just going to have to trust me on this: this is much more who I am than Disney ever was,” she said. “The brand has and continues to be great to me, and my fans are ridiculously special. I’ve always felt really happy and creatively expressed within the Disney realm, but still, it’s their realm.”
