Ariana Grande Joins Netflix Adaptation of 'The Prom' Musical!

Ariana Grande is doing another musical!

The 25-year-old singer and actress has joined the cast of The Prom for Netflix, Deadline reports.

The Prom follows four long-ago famous Broadway actors as they travel to the fictional conservative town of Edgewater, Indiana, after reading about a lesbian student who was not allowed to bring her girlfriend to high school prom. They want to help, but mostly they want to soak up the good press and be relevant again.

Ariana will star as Alyssa Greene, a popular but closeted student and the daughter of the head of the PTA, in the film adaptation from the hit Broadway musical. She is also set to produce the soundtrack alongside director Ryan Murphy and her manager Scooter Braun.

Also starring in the musical are Meryl Streep, James Corden, Andrew Rannells, Awkwafina, Keegan-Michael Key, and Nicole Kidman.

Ariana recently extended her Sweetener Tour through December 21st, while production on the musical is set to begin in December. She recently tweeted, “work so f–kin muuuuuch need a twinny twin twin.”
