Louisa Johnson Opens Up About the Pressures of Social Media

Louisa Johnson is laying it all out on the line.

The 21-year-old X Factor singer opened up about the pressures of social media in an Instagram post on Monday (July 15).

I really wanna use my Instagram to be more open and share my everyday life journey with you guys, but sometimes I literally go to post something and I can’t, I don’t know what is stopping me or holding me back but I just feel anxious whenever I post something a little too ‘me,’” she wrote. “I’ve always struggled with this tbh. Maybe that’s why my Instagram is full of smiles and happy memories. Not the times I’m blowing bubbles out of my nose cos I can’t stop crying for no reason.”

Louisa went on for three pages in her emotional open letter to fans.

“No one really wants to show their bad days on Instagram but I want to start letting people in to just show people it’s normal,” she wrote. “It’s normal to feel sh*t some days, it’s normal to want to stay in bed and not get out, it’s normal to think where is life even taking me? It happens to me most weeks.”

Louisa went on to talk about vulnerability and reiterate to any fans experiencing tough times that they’re not alone.

“Do what makes you happy,” she advised, near the end of her post. “Quit the job that is making you depressed and anxious. Of course you might struggle for a while…but there is always light at the end of the tunnel and things will happen how they are meant to, I promise you.”
