Taylor Swift just revealed she’s opening the 2019 MTV VMAs!
The 29-year-old performer announced that she will be opening the show when it airs next Monday (August 26) from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Taylor accidentally spilled the news during her Good Morning America appearance.
“I’m opening the show, so that’s exciting. I don’t know if I was supposed to say that, actually. But I’ve done it now, so can’t take it back,” Taylor said.
Taylor‘s VMAs performance will be her first major televised performance after the release of her new album Lover – which is coming out on August 23.
This is the first time Taylor will be returning to the VMAs stage since her 2015 performance of “Bad Blood.”
Taylor Swift is up for 10 awards – including Video of the Year, Song of the Year, and Video For Good for her songs “ME!” and “You Need to Calm Down.”
The show will air on MTV on Monday, August 26 at 8 pm ET with Sebastian Maniscalco as host.
