Corbin Bleu Wants Original HSM Fans To Give New Series A Chance

We know that original High School Musical fans have been a bit worried about the upcoming Disney+ series, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series – but original star, Corbin Bleu, wants you to let those worries go.

In a new Instagram to his followers, the now 30-year-old actor is giving a huge blessing to the new show.

“An HSM reboot? Trust me, like you I was very nervous…However, upon watching an episode and meeting this talented and dedicated cast I’m certain you will all love it!” Corbin, who played basketball obsessed Chad Danforth, wrote in the caption. “They’ve truly created something different and unique while still paying great respect to the original. It’s actually quite brilliant!”

He added, “This cast is the real deal👏🏽 For me, one of the best aspects of High School Musical was that it gave kids from all over the world the courage to explore the arts. I’m so excited that HSM will continue to introduce musical theatre to a new generation! What team?! #d23expo.”

Monique Coleman, who played Taylor McKessie in the three movies with Corbin, added a reply to his post, supporting the show as well.

“Love this!!! Excited for the new #wildcats to bring their magic to the franchise ♥️,” she wrote.

Joshua Bassett, Olivia Rodrigo, Matt Cornett, Sofia Wylie, and more star in the series, launching in November on Disney+.
