Alex Shibutani Returns To LA After Spending First Christmas Apart From Sister Maia

The 28-year-old Olympic ice skater is returning from spending Christmas with his grandmother.

A couple days before, Alex‘s sister Maia shared that this was the first time the Shib Sibs haven’t been together on Christmas.

Maia is recovering from surgery where she had a mass removed from her kidney. It was later found that test results from that mass came back as positive for cancer.

Alex had been by his sister’s side, even helping her walk after the surgery and called her the most courageous person he knows.
