Marsai Martin Talks Diane's Hair Transformation When 'black-ish' Returns Tonight

Marsai Martin rocks a bold eyeshadow look while making an appearance at Build Series on Monday (January 6) in New York City.

The 15-year-old actress talked about what she has in store this year, including the return of black-ish, where her character goes through a hair transformation.

“I mean, just having two dozen black women in our cast, crew, writing, creating, a part of the whole experience for the last six years, we’ve always wanted to talk about something that is for us by us,” Marsai said of having the hair subject in the new episode.

“Just to have a great experience, and to actually have people that work with us be influenced in the episode, and actually be in the episode, is pretty cool,” she added. “It was very strategic. It was very read the script, let’s read it again, let’s read it again, see what we want to change. I talked to Tracee [Ellis Ross], we talked to Courtney, which is the showrunner, and then to Marquita Robinson, shout out to you, which is the writer. We just kind of flushed everything out that we want so it doesn’t feel like we are telling one side.”
