“I was so unhappy last year,” Billie said about 2018. “I was so unhappy, and I was so, like, joyless.” She then admitted, “I genuinely didn’t think I would make it to 17.”

Gayle then mentioned Billie‘s song “Bury a Friend” where she sings “I wanna end me” and asks Billie if that was a real thought in her mind.

“Yeah,” Billie revealed. “I think about this one time I was in Berlin and I was alone in my hotel, and I remember there was a window right there. I remember crying because I was thinking about how the way that I was going to die was, I was going to do it.”

Billie then said her mom was the reason why she didn’t take that extra step out the window.

Thanks to therapy and the support of her family, Billie says she is in a much better place now and wants to use her platform to help fan going through similar struggles.

“I just grab [the fans] by the shoulders and I’m like, ‘Please take care of yourself and be good to yourself and be nice to yourself,’” Billie shared. “‘Don’t take that extra step and hurt yourself further.’”
