Joshua Bassett Reveals What Stopped Him From Releasing 'Common Sense' Last Year

Joshua Bassett was ready to release his single “Common Sense” last November right before he signed a record deal!

The 19-year-old HSMTMTS actor and musician was stopped in his tracks when Warner expressed interest in signing him.

“It’s an interesting story that I haven’t told anyone. I was trying to release my song in November. I was ready to go. I had no label, I was like, ‘I’m just going to do it myself.’ So I recorded the song, I got it mixed, mastered, I got it all done. I got my friend to do the photo shoot,” Joshua explained on Build Series.

Joshua continued, “Then Warner came into the picture and we were like, ‘Maybe we don’t have to do this all right now.’ That pushed the release back a little bit while we figured that out. They came in at just the right time. It was pretty perfect. The team over there is incredible. It’s so nice to have a team I can trust with my career and music. They totally get it.”
