'Riverdale' Season 5 Will Feature Time Jump Into Future

Riverdale is heading into the future for the next season!

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa confirmed the time jump taking place in the upcoming fifth season.

“We’ve been talking and planning on doing a time jump,” Roberto told TVLine. “Of course, usually time jumps happen in between seasons, because there’s a tease at the very end.”

He also added that the season will pick up right where season four left off, and the first three episodes will be what were supposed to be the last three of season four.

“It felt like maybe what we’ll do is start with the last three episodes,” Roberto said. “So what we’re doing is picking up right where we left off for the first three episodes, and then doing a time jump… after those three episodes.”

Fans actually predicted that season five will have a time jump earlier this year. See how they came to that conclusion!

It was also just announced that season five will premiere in January 2021!
