Nickelodeon Pledges $5 Million To Black Lives Matters Organizations Amid Racial Injustice

Nickelodeon has announced that they’re donating $5 million dollars to the Black Lives Matter movement.

The network revealed their decision, as protests for racial inequality press on, on social media.

The money will go towards several organizations including the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, National Bail Out, Amnesty International and others in an effort to amplify black voices and communities.

“We’re committed to amplifying the voices of Black communities, we condemn system racism, and we honor George Floyd and other victims of racial injustice,” Nickelodeon’s statement reads.

Earlier this week, Nickelodeon defended itself after going dark for 8 minutes and 46 seconds to recognize George Floyd‘s murder.

“Unfortunately, some kids live in fear everyday,” the network responded to one parent who said the statement and commercial scared her own children.
