Charli D'Amelio Admits She Was Terrified To Meet James Charles

Charli D’Amelio is opening up about meeting James Charles for the first time.

In a new collab video on her sister Dixie‘s YouTube channel, the 15-year-old revealed she was so nervous and terrified to meet the makeup guru, which caused his first impression of her to not be good.

“My first impression of Charli was actually not good because, I’ll tell you why… When I first discovered Charli, I was like, ‘Oh my god, who’s this girl?’ It was when I first joined TikTok and I had looked on Charli‘s Instagram, she was already following me so I was like, ‘Oh my god, this is kind of cute,’ so I messaged her,” James explains. “She wrote back right away, but then I was like, ‘Oh my god, I would love to do your makeup sometime,’ and then she didn’t respond.”

“Like three different times, in a row, I was like, ‘Oh my god, we should film.’ She’s like, ‘Oh yeah, I’m just really busy right now,’ and I was like, “Okay me too, but we should try to film something,’ and it was just really… I was like, ‘Oh my god, she must hate me or something.’ Like this is just so uncomfortable.”

“I want to tell you what actually, what happened,” Dixie said. “You were there one time, and she hid.”

When James asked why, Charli said, “I was scared of you. I’ve been watching you since I was like, for a very long time, and I told my parents when you had DM’d me, and I was like, ‘I don’t know what to say, I’m scared.’”

“I was just really, really nervous and I didn’t know what to say because you were on of the first, you were one of the first people to reach out and be like, ‘Hey, let’s collab,’ that I’ve watched for a long time,” Charli added. “I was just super, super scared and just didn’t know what to say… I was terrified, I still am.”
