Madelaine Petsch Opens Up About Her Mental Health After Her Break Up & During Quarantine

Madelaine Petsch is speaking out about her mental health in 2020.

In a new interview, the 26-year-old Riverdale actress shared that her breakup from Travis Mills and the pandemic really took a toll on her at the start of the year.

“My mental health was at an all time low,” she told Flaunt magazine. “Every day was definitely a challenge and therapy was absolutely key for me to keep sane. My best friend moved in with me and that was a huge game changer for my mental health. I found ways to be creative while staying positive and reading books. I read this book called ‘Vibrate Higher Daily,’ and it’s basically about how to radiate positivity. And I found more books to help me navigate.”

Madelaine also opened up about how she didn’t really know who she was while not working.

“It really took me probably five months through this whole pandemic to get back to an okay mental state,” she said. “I had a lot of anxiety over quarantine, and I felt like without my job and without Riverdale, I didn’t know what my identity was. I’m saying this because I don’t want anyone to feel like they’re alone. I’m in the same boat and I feel it, and I’m right there with them.”

Some things that Madelaine did to help her through it, besides having her bestie by her side – meditating, checking in with friends, talking to her mom and reading. She also kept up with “The Five Minute Journal” and made sure to remind herself three things that she was grateful.
