The 17-year-old star of The Secret Life of the American Teenager partnered up with David Archuleta to present Brad Paisley with the Favorite Male Country Artist Award at yesterday’s event.
Shailene was recently featured as one of Entertainment Weekly‘s Breakout Stars of 2008 next to David Cook, Robert Pattinson and Demi Lovato, among others. She shared with the magazine about her ABC Family hit show, “I think teens respond, honestly, to the fact sex is mentioned.”

Nick, Joe and Kevin took home the T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist Award (presented by Ashley Tisdale) thanks to thousands of votes from the fans. The trio were up against Paramore, Flo Rida, Colbie Caillat, and The-Dream. Congrats to the JoBros!

Taylor Swift is one Fearless favorite as she places a victorious kiss to her crystal clear trophy at the 2008 American Music Awards on Sunday night in Los Angeles.
“I guess I saw my name on the ballot, but never really thought I had a chance at winning,” Taylor said of her big AMA win. “This has been the best week of my life! The reason that I won this award is all of my friends on MySpace and all of the fan sites. I love them all!”
The 18-year-old songbird beat out country music queen Reba McEntire and American Idol Carrie Underwood for the honor. Taylor also performed “White Horse” off of her #1 sophomore album. Congrats Taylor!

Miley Cyrus snuggles up close to BFF Ashley Tisdale and mom Tish Cyrus in front of her Sweet 16th birthday cake she was presented with at the 2008 American Music Awards on Sunday night in Los Angeles.
The now 16-year-old Disney starlet performed her second single from her Breakout album, “Fly on the Wall.” (She wore Frye “Veronica Slouch” boots in grey patent and Loree Rodkin’s white gold bondage ring in black rhodium and grey diamonds.)
Miley told Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger on the red carpet that the performance would be crazy. She shared, “It’s really cool. There’s a huge break dance section, we’ve got a big billboard. It’s amazing. There’s jumping all over the place. It’s crazy and I have 30-something dancers today so I’m excited.”

David, 17, debuted his self-titled CD on November 11th and is still holding on to the #2 spot on the Billboard Music Charts. Country cutie Taylor Swift nabbed #1. David‘s first single, “Crush”, sits at #22 on the Billboard Hot 100 single sales charts as well. Not too bad.
