Adam Rippon is celebrating Pride Month in the Big Apple!
The Olympic figure skater joined NYC City Council Speaker and LQBTQ rights advocate Corey Johnson at a Pride Month event at New York’s City Hall on Friday (June 8).
The event paid tribute to Adam for the work he’s done for various charitable organizations, serving as an inspiration to the LGBTQ community.
Corey took to Twitter after the event to post a celebratory video of the duo lip-syncing along to Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe.”
They also shared a video urging LGBTQ youth to run for U.S. office and to pursue their athletic dreams.
But even we weren’t as big of fans of the duo as Jenna‘s boyfriend Val Chmerkovskiy. Even though he was on tour most of the season, he was sure to give Adam some advice.
“Val was so helpful. He was like, ‘Go out there. You never want to look back at your videos and be like, ‘I could have been just a little bit more. I could have given a little bit more,” Adam told Us Weekly. “It was advice that I took with me all throughout the whole competition. I can tell he loves Jenna so much. And I felt that he wanted it for Jenna so badly and that he was going to help me in any way that he could. I’m so grateful.”
The love between Adam Rippon and Jenna Johnson is just hitting us with all the emotions right now.
Just after winning Dancing With The Stars Athletes earlier this week, the two headed to New York City to chat about their win, friendship and more.
“We had this instant connection the moment we met, and we were successful on the show because of that connection,” Adam shared during their interview at Build Series on Wednesday (May 23).
He added, “We spent so much time together, and my feelings for her never changed. I always wanted her to be my partner.”
Friendship Goals were defined right here!
Adam and Jenna also stopped by Good Morning America and the Empire State Building on Tuesday (May 22).
FYI: At GMA, Jenna wore an Alice and Olivia blazer and pants, Peoples Project LA tank and Jimmy Choo shoes. At Build, she wore an Alpha & Omega look with Jimmy Choo shoes.
Speaking with ET almost immediately afterwards, Team Just Friends spoke about being forever friends after the experience.
“I think we’re connected forever. He can’t get rid of me,” Jenna said.
“May the record show, Adam Rippon and Jenna Johnson’s names are forever engraved, well-printed,” Adam added.
“This has been such an incredible experience, just pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, and more than that, getting to meet somebody who I’m gonna be friends with for the rest of my life. It’s just been such an incredible experience.”
