The fan-favorite Freeform series has been canceled by the network after only three seasons on the air, Deadline reveals.
The cancellation news comes just two months after the season three finale aired.
Siren took viewers inside Bristol Cove—a coastal town known for its legend of once being home to mermaids. When the arrival of a mysterious girl proves this folklore all too true, the battle between man and sea takes a very vicious turn as these predatory beings return to reclaim their right to the ocean.
Ross Lynch poses for a picture on the field ahead of playing in the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Legends and Stars Charity Soccer Match held at BC Place on Saturday (September 14) in Vancouver, Canada.
Alex Roe is opening up about the response to the polyamorous relationship on Siren.
The 29-year-old expressed that he and the cast are grateful for all the love they have received.
“We’re so grateful for any fan reaction at all, it’s amazing that it’s sparked any conversation. We’re grateful, full stop,” he told TV Guide.
“Some people are freaked out by it, some people are cool with it, but I think starting a conversation is a pretty important thing to do,” Alex continued. “Ultimately, their relationship is all about love, you know? ‘Ben and Maddie are love,’ as Ryn says. I think what’s amazing about it is you have this mermaid who doesn’t see the way that humans see and all that humans have been taught to see. She just loves who she loves, and I think that Ben and Maddie’s minds have been opened because of that.”
Alex Roe, Eline Powell, and Fola Evans-Akingbola pose together just after the Siren panel during New York Comic Con 2018 held at Javits Center on Thursday night (October 4) in New York City.
The three stars chatted about the upcoming season and released a brand new trailer for the series, which shows even more mer-people coming to the short.

The trio was joined by co-stars Ian Verdun and Rena Owen while discussing the second season of their hit Freeform series.
During the panel, moderated by TLC‘s Chilli, the show’s EP Eric Wald teased more mermaids coming to Bristol Cove for season two.
“It will give us a chance to dig even more into the mermaid mythology,” he said (via Entertainment Weekly). “What their lives are like, what their social structures are like… We’re really interested in the smaller moments, too — like does a mermaid know how to laugh or know what laughter is?”

Also starring Timothée Chalamet, the flick centers on Daniel Middleton, who is spending the summer before college visiting his aunt on Cape Cod.
Neither a “townie” nor a wealthy “summer bird” dropping in for the season, Daniel struggles to find his place—until he meets Hunter Strawberry, the local bad-boy who peddles marijuana to well-off vacationers when he isn’t protecting his younger sister McKayla from overzealous male suitors.
Hot Summer Nights hits theaters on Friday, July 27th and is currently available exclusively on DIRECTV.
FYI: Maika wore a Stella McCartney dress, Jimmy Choo shoes and a Beladora necklace.
