JJJ can hardly contain our excitement over premiering Alex & Sierra‘s new song “Take Me”!
The duo just recently announced their new album, As Seen on TV, earlier this month and they dished to us about the track that is exclusively debuting right here.
“We’re extremely excited to have ‘Take Me’ be the first original song released from this record. It’s one that came together almost on accident in Nashville a few months ago,” Alex shared. “Sierra misheard one of our co-writers and thought he said something else, but that miscommunication led to writing the line ‘Where do you go when you fall asleep?’ Those words sparked the idea to write a song about being head over heels for someone who doesn’t always know how to speak their mind.”
He added, “So you’re lying awake at night, and turn over to see them asleep and your mind starts to wander. What are they dreaming about? What’s going on in there? What are they running from? And it’s sort of a longing to be in that dream with the person you love, just to be close. Hope you guys like it”
Listen to “Take Me” below and get even more excited for Alex & Sierra‘s album, which is out on September 30th.
We are so excited to announce that Alex & Sierra are back with a brand new album called As Seen on TV!
The pop duo, who were the last winners of X Factor USA, teased the big news on social media along with a new video of their Britney Spears‘ “Toxic” cover.
“This is definitely a bridge to what’s to come,” Sierra shared. “We’ve grown a lot in the last few years.”
Alex added: “The title is a playful tribute to how most people know us. The album is a nice way to bring our fans with us as we move forward.”
The As Seen On TV album features covers like “Toxic” and “You’re The One That I Want” plus originals like “Animals” and “You Will Find Me”.
“It was such an important decision for us to discover what we are capable of as artists on our own terms. We’ve created something together we’re really proud of, and it’s so validating. I’m super excited to share it with our fans,” the duo shared.

While we wait patiently for Alex & Sierra to come back full force into our lives, the duo just dropped a new song with Gareth Emery!
Alex and Sierra teamed up with Gareth on his new 100 Reasons To Live album and lent their voices to “When We Were Young”.
“we had so much fun working on this song with @garethemery ? it just came out today and we’d be stoked if you gave it a listen; as well as the rest of his album! it also helps that gareth is THE MAN. we miss you!” the duo wrote on Instagram, sending fans to the entire album.
Alex & Sierra just made the announcement that we’ve been waiting for — there’s new music coming!
The duo, who won the final season of X Factor back in 2013, posted the big news on Instagram.
“It’s been a long road, but we’ve finally got an EP coming out!!!!!” Alex and Sierra wrote. “We’ve read requests for the last two years to release full, real studio versions of the songs we covered on tv; so the EP will include our favorites from those and also some new originals.”
They continued, “Excited for the future and we can’t wait to share new music with you guys. ????? more info to come! (also, that’s baby gi in the corner. she comes to the studio with us a lot)”
The duo took to Instagram to reflect on the past two years and what’s ahead in their future.
“Today officially marks two years since we won x factor!!! ???? there’s a lot about the music industry we didn’t expect and we’ve been learning something new every day. we’ve had to battle the stigma of being ‘puppet pop singers who won a tv show’ and prove we write our own music and play instruments and perform live. and while we’ve had some not great experiences with suits, we are beyond grateful that we get to support ourselves and our families by playing music and doing what we love,” they wrote.
Alex and Sierra added, “We went from being the background noise at restaurants nobody cared to listen to, to releasing an album that charted #8 on billboard, playing radio city music hall, traveling the world, and so much more. thank you for joining us on our adventures and we promise there is so much more to come from us. we’ll show you.”
