In the upcoming season, the title duo’s friendship is tested during their junior year of high school. On top of thinking about college, there’s also new love interests coming into their lives, too.
The hit Netflix show, also starring Emery Kelly and Finn Carr, will premiere on December 30th on Netflix!

Emery Kelly revealed the new season premiere date on his Instagram today.
“A&K SEASON 3 DECEMBER 30TH 2019 đ canât wait for you guys to see this â¤ď¸,” he captioned with a new family photo.
Alexa & Katie centers on the two title BFFs as they navigate high school while Alexa is in cancer remission.

The Alexa & Katie co-stars stepped out for the event, presented by Snapchat, at Los Angeles Theatre on Friday (February 15) in Los Angeles.
They were joined by Chilling Adventures of Sabrina‘s Adeline Rudolph, Riverdale‘s Tommy Martinez, 13 Reasons Why‘s Anne Winters, One Day at a Time‘s Marcel Ruiz, Stranger Things‘ Caleb McLaughlin, and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before‘s Anna Cathcart.
Just yesterday, it was announced that Netflix has renewed Alexa & Katie for a third season!

It’s official – there’s more Alexa & Katie on the way!
Stars Paris Berelc and Isabel May revealed the big news in a cute video (via EW).
The series centers on the title lifelong best friends on their journey as they face not only the challenges of high school but also the lingering complexities of Alexaâs battle with cancer.
The forthcoming season, which will be split into two parts, will see Alexa (Berelc) and Katie (May) through their junior and senior years of high school as they learn that together, they can get through anything.
Tiffani Thiessen, Eddie Shin, Jolie Jenkins, Emery Kelly, Finn Carr, and Jack Griffo will also return as series regulars.
Emery Kelly is ready to meet more of the Mendoza family on Alexa & Katie.
The 21-year-old actor, who plays Lucas Mendoza on the popular Netflix series, opened up to Daily Shuffle magazine about the characters and actors who he’d love to see on the series.
“I think it’d be awesome to have Ross Butler on the show,” Emery shared. “I think he could play Alexa and Lucas’ older cousin, which could result in some funny storylines.”
Emery adds, “He’d fit right in and knowing him personally, I think it’d be so much fun to be able to work together.”
If you don’t know, the Mendoza family is multi-cultural and features Eddie Shin and Tiffani Thiessen as the parents.

While it’s only 10 episodes, it’s still 10 new episodes that we get to obsess over, and because the new season is here, it has us thinking about a possible season three.
Last time, the new season was announced just after the series was nominated for a Creative Arts Emmy.
If there was a season three happening, the show could possibly return in late 2019. Here’s hoping!
