Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning‘s upcoming biopic, The Runaways, has a release date!
The duo, plus costars, Scout Taylor-Compton, Stella Maeve and Alia Shawkat will see their flick hit theaters on Friday, March 19, according to E Online.
The Runaways follows tells the story of the 1970s teenage rock band responsible for hits “Cherry Bomb,” “Queens of Noise” and “Born to Be Bad” and will actually screen during the 2010 Sundance Film Festival later this month.

Alia Shawkat gets her gangsta on in this remake of Teen Witch‘s infamous rap scene, “Top That.”
In support of pal Rachel Antonoff‘s spring 2010 collection, the 20-year-old Runaways star walks right up to her rapping crush and raps right back — with the help of a little magic, of course.

The upcoming biopic centers on the ’70s female rock group The Runaways and focuses on the duo of guitarist/vocalist Joan Jett (Kristen Stewart) and lead vocalist/keyboardist Cherie Currie (Dakota Fanning) as they navigate a rocky road of touring and record label woes under an abusive manager during their teen years.

Alia Shawkat dolls herself up with pretty flowers in her hair and on her wrist as she premieres Whip It at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Tuesday night (September 29).
The 20-year-old actress stars as Pash in the comedy flick. Whip It follows an indie-rock loving misfit (Ellen Page) who finds a way of dealing with her small-town misery after she discovers a roller derby league in nearby Austin.
Whip It hits theaters everywhere THIS Friday, October 2nd.
