'Shadowhunters' Gets Return Date - Here's When the Final Episodes Will Premiere!

'Shadowhunters' Gets Return Date - Here's When the Final Episodes Will Premiere!

The final episodes of Shadowhunters now have a premiere date!

Freeform announced on Saturday (November 3) that the series will return on February 25, and the episodes will be followed by the two-part wrap-up movie The Final Hunt.

Shadowhunters wrapped the first half of its third season back in May.

Although the finale appeared to take the lives of Clary (Katherine McNamara) and Lilith (Anna Hopkins), showrunner Todd Slavkin reminded TVLine, “You can never kill a greater demon, you can only banish them back to Edom. So Lilith is not gone. In fact, you’ll see her again. But the poor thing is stuck in Edom, and she’s not too happy about that.”

We can also expect to see Clary’s real brother Jonathan again – this time played by by Luke Baines – as he challenges the Shadowhunters with a “new level of evil that they can’t even imagine.”

On Alec (Matthew Daddario) and Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.), Todd said, “It’s heartbreaking, but it’s also beautiful. [Magnus] learns how to live in the moment, something he never had to do when he had powers. Season 3B is such a rollercoaster ride for Magnus Bane. We loved his arc in 3A, but for Harry Shum, Jr. as an actor, it’s a hell of a journey. It’s beautiful and profound and it’ll break your heart. You’re in for a ride that’s really intense to watch.”

Todd added, “When Maia (Alisha Wainwright) comes back in 3B, we get to really see what’s going on at the Jade Wolf — the pack politics. She’s forced to step up in a way she never thought she was capable of. She’s someone who has always chosen to run away when things get difficult. Alisha Wainwright is so good … and she comes back in a really cool way that fans will dig.”

'Shadowhunters' Cast Wrap Final Days of Filming

Grab your tissues! The cast of Shadowhunters have finished filming on the final few episodes of the show.

Katherine McNamara, Harry Shum Jr, Emeraude Toubia, and more have shared their thoughts after the last day.

“#Shadowhunters has been an angelic blessing. Playing Clary is an honor that has taught me more than I can express. She is strong, courageous, compassionate, badass, and broken, and I love every little imperfect piece of her. She will always be a part of me and I’d like to think I left a little part of me with her,” Katherine wrote on Instagram.

“We wrapped several hours ago for our final day on @Shadowhunters. It has been an honor to play this iconic character created by @cassieclare1 & I honestly didn’t anticipate the level of impact it would have on people all over the world. I consider it a privilege to work with this extremely special group of people,” Harry added.

Shadowhunters' Alisha Wainwright Joins Michael B. Jordan In 'Raising Dion'

Shadowhunters' Alisha Wainwright Joins Michael B. Jordan In 'Raising Dion'

Shadowhunters may have sadly been cancelled, but Alisha Wainwright is not leaving our TV screens!

The actress, who played Maia on the Freeform show, has just been cast opposite Michael B. Jordan and newcomer Ja’Siah Young in the new show Raising Dion for Netflix.

Alisha will play Nicole Reese, “a former professional dancer who gave it up to raise her son Dion when her husband Mark died. Although Nicole is completely overwhelmed by raising her son alone while dealing with the loss of her husband, she is still effortlessly cool and maintains a positive outlook on life for Dion. As Dion’s abilities become more and more apparent, Nicole’s protective nature heightens as she starts to fear for his safety.”

Raising Dion follows the story of a woman named Nicole Reese, who raises her son Dion (Young) after the death of her husband Mark (Jordan). The normal dramas of raising a son as a single mom are amplified when Dion starts to manifest several magical, superhero-like abilities. Nicole must now keep her son’s gifts secret with the help of Mark’s best friend Pat (Jason Ritter), and protect Dion from antagonists out to exploit him while figuring out the origin of his abilities.

Alisha Wainwright Talks How 'Shadowhunters' Season 3 Will Have Complete Sub-Stories

Alisha Wainwright stuns in this pic from the April 2018 issue of NKD mag.

In her feature interview, the Shadowhunters actress opened up about how season three is changing the game.

“This time around, I really feel like we’re going to start to understand the dynamics that make the Downworld function—and dysfunction,” Alisha shared.

The sub-stories that she’s most excited for are the interpersonal and relational ones.

“Fans will find that really interesting, because it goes beyond just trying to fight some bad entity — although there is a lot of that this season — and more character development,” Alisha adds.

Shadowhunters airs Tuesdays on Freeform.

Alisha Wainwright Dishes On The Storyline You Probably Didn't See Coming on 'Shadowhunters'

Alisha Wainwright Dishes On The Storyline You Probably Didn't See Coming on 'Shadowhunters'

Alisha Wainwright steps out for the 2018 ipsy Gen Beauty event over the weekend in Los Angeles.

The Shadowhunters actress joined Jenna Ortega, DeVore Ledridge, Monique Coleman, Olesya Rulin, and makeup guru Laura Sanchez at the beauty event this weekend.

In a recent interview, Alisha opened up about an underlying storyline that most fans might not have picked up on — acceptance.

“I feel like a lot of stuff happened in season 2, and I think in season 3, you kind of take a step back and see how do you make the day to day work,” she shared.

“It’s less about the stuff that’s happening, the stuff that’s being done to the people, and more about how the people are connecting with each other.”

“[Like], How can we have a relationship when you’re a vampire and I’m a werewolf? In season 2, we never really had to deal with that, but now in season 3 it’s an issue and one that we didn’t really see.”

Alisha adds, “Now we’re trying to deal with making sure everyone accepts us, and again, it’s a way to touch on a theme outside of the show in a non-political way.”

Shadowhunters airs Tuesdays on Freeform.
