Alyson Stoner shows off her dance moves during Missy Elliott‘s Video Vanguard Award performance at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards held at Prudential Center on Monday (August 26) in Newark, N.J.
The 26-year-old entertainer recreated her exact routine from the “Work It” music video from 17 years ago.
Alyson even revealed that she didn’t really have time to rehearse and that she only found out she was going to perform the day before!
“Let’s talk quick facts.. HiHat hit me up a day before to jump in, said “do your thing” and then it was showtime. 😅😳🙏🏽💁🏻♀️ But those grooves don’t leave your system. ❤️,” she replied to a fan on Twitter that asked if she had rehearsed.

The actress and singer performed as the Connecticut Sun took on the Phoenix Mercury at Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday (July 12) in Uncasville, Conn. (Connecticut Sun won 79-64.)

The 25-year-old musician took to her Instagram to share a candid message about how she feels after confronting her deepest fears.

“I have actually FACED my greatest fears- the fear of being forgotten, of being a failure, and of giving up and having to start over from scratch,” Alyson wrote.
She continued, “I am alive and well, friends. And sleep is finally restful! ✨🙏🏽💡 Real question: when do you plan on facing yours? Give yourself a deadline below, brave one. It’s time.”
We know it must have been so difficult for Alyson to face her fears and we applaud her!
