During the program, Maddie helped announce the first contestant of the upcoming season of American Idol!
Meghan Woods was chosen by America after they saw her and two other aspiring singers perform on Dancing With The Stars the night before. Fans submitted their votes and now Meghan is heading straight to Hollywood when the show kicks off!
The singer and second-place winner on the latest season of American Idol stepped out for the the event held at the Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday (November 14) in Nashville, Tenn.
He was joined by Scotty McCreery, who won the 10th season of American Idol, as well as Kellie Pickler, a contestant on the fifth season of the series, who wowed in a one-shoulder yellow gown.
Also in attendance was Kellie‘s Pickler & Ben talk show co-host, Ben Aaron, and Scotty‘s wife, Gabi Dugal.

Nick hit the Idol stage to perform both his newest single “Anywhere” with DJ Mustard and “Jealous” during the finale on Monday night (May 21).Later in the performance, Nick was joined onstage by contestant Jurnee in front of Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie.
“I don’t have many words to say I just, I feel so overwhelmed,” the 20-year-old singer shared afterwards.
Maddie adds, “I just can’t even believe, you know I felt like I was kind of an underdog for a while. I really did because my music is not mainstream, and so to know that I pulled this off just doing what I love and I didn’t have to change myself is pretty incredible.”
“The thing is I remember a year ago I was playing in a coffee shop for six people, and I just, I wanted to give up,” she recalled. “I didn’t see this going anywhere and I was afraid, and just to know a year later if I could go back and tell myself, you’re the winner of ‘American Idol,’ I wouldn’t believe it.”
Just a few days ahead of her win, Maddie dropped her debut single, “Going Going Gone” that you can listen to below and download it now on all digital retailers!
The finale will span across two nights, Sunday (May 20) and Monday (May 21), and each contestant will perform three songs, including their just released debut singles.
Maddie will perform her new single “Going Going Gone“, her own original song “Don’t Ever Let Your Children Grow Up”, and Fleetwood Mac‘s “Landslide”.
Caleb will perform his new song “Johnny Cash Heart“, “Don’t Close Your Eyes” by Keith Whitley, and “Folsom Prison Blues” by Johnny Cash.
Gabby will perform “Rivers Deep”, her debut single, Miranda Lambert‘s “Little Red Wagon”, and “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey.
After a two-year break, the American Idol live tour dates will be revealed on the show this Sunday (May 6) as the final seven contestants compete during the Prince-themed night.
According to a source, the venues will be small to medium-sized theaters.
The tour is scheduled to run for at least eight weeks, kicking off on July 1.
