Andi Mack season two just wrapped, but we won’t have long to wait for more!
The third season is expected to start airing on Disney Channel in December of this year, and the cast is dishing on what they hope for.
“I hope to see the characters all grow, and I think the progression of the seasons from one to two and now to three, you see so much growth in all the characters, this building of confidence that they’ve all been experiencing. I’m just excited to see Andi, as well as the rest of the characters grow more and more into themselves!” Peyton Elizabeth Lee told Tigerbeat.
Joshua Rush added that he wants lots of Cyrus moments (and we agree!).
” I want lots of things for Cyrus! The problem is I can’t tell you any of them because I just told Terri all of them, and if any of them end up coming out on the show…I can’t be the one who releases those spoilers before they’re even spoilers!” he said.
“For Buffy, I just want her to grow as a human becuase all of our chracters are growing so much, and they’re finding their way through life at such a young age,” Sofia Wylie added. “I would like to see who Buffy truly is because we’re finding more layers of her: why she’s so competitive, and we’re seeing her mom come back home and seeing her being more vulnerable. I love being able to see different layers of my character and I would love to see even more.”
Peyton captioned the image with one of the most famous lines from A.A. Milne‘s Winnie The Pooh book: “‘we’ll be friends forever, won’t we pooh?’ asked piglet. ‘even longer’ pooh answered.”
Doesn’t that just make you melt?! We love this cast so much!
During Andi Mack‘s emotional episode, we saw Buffy Driscoll tell her mom just why she can’t say goodbye to Andi and Cyrus before she moved with her family.
Sofia shared a thank you to all the fans sending her messages of support after the episode aired.
“I want to thank everyone for the wonderful messages about this scene. It means so much to me when I hear that something that I’ve done touched you in a positive way!” she wrote.
Sofia added more thanks to showrunner/creator Terri Minsky “and the writers for giving me such an incredible character to bring to life! Thank you @marloubob for directing this episode and giving me the freedom to explore my acting in a deeper and meaningful way! Thanks to my acting coach @mattdearing @dearingstudio for supporting me on this journey. Thank you @disneychannel Channel for giving me this platform and allowing me to grow as an actress!”
And it looks like we won’t be saying goodbye to Buffy forever, either: “Buffy might have left but maybe not forever 😉.”
As Jonah Beck, the multi-talented teen performed a brand new song on the show to Andi, played by Peyton Elizabeth Lee, to tell her how he really feels about her – and JJJ has the full performance below!
The episode, called “Andi’s Choice”, actually helped the show out, and delivered new season highs, growing over the prior week by double digits among Total Viewers (+24% – 1.44 million vs. 1.16 million), Kids 6-11 (+43% – vs. 387,000/1.6 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (+21% – vs. 438,000/1.8 rating).
“Andi’s Choice” also boosted Andi Mack by giving it its’ best numbers since February this year.
Jonah just might win Andi’s attention back in tonight’s episode of Andi Mack.
In “Andi’s Choice”, Andi’s (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) ex-crush Jonah Beck (Asher Angel) finally finds a way to tell Andi how much he likes being around her – with a song!
However, Andi is still smitten with Walker (Darius Marcell), who continues to impress her with his kindness.
Get a sneak peek of what’s happening on tonight’s episode, airing July 9th @ 8PM ET/PT on Disney Channel and the DisneyNOW app.
Sofia Wylie has an extra special relationship with all her fans.
The 14-year-old Andi Mack star recently opened up about how much her fans mean to her and the special gifts she’s gotten from them.
“I do remember the first little bracelet I got,” she recalled. “It was made out of beads and it had ‘Andi Mack’ spelled out. And I wore it every single day.”
Sofia added, “Of course, once we started filming the show I had to take it off because I can’t be wearing ‘Andi Mack’ on my wrist. But I love every single gift that any fan gives me.”
While she has over a million followers on Instagram, she’s determined to stay grounded.
“I just love what I do. I’m so passionate about everything that I’m blessed to have,” Sofia says. “I don’t think having followers really changed me in any way.”
“I would be OK if I had 10 followers today. All I care about is having a platform to be able to voice my opinion on things and inspire people in any way that I can.”
Andi Mack airs Mondays @ 8PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.
