Jenna Ortega Joins 'The Babysitter' Sequel on Netflix

Jenna Ortega is set to star in the sequel to The Babysitter on Netflix!

The 17-year-old Jane the Virgin actress has signed on for the follow-up to the horror comedy, THR reports.

The film followed “a babysitter who moonlighted as the leader of a satanic cult looking to perform sacrifices.”

McG will return to direct, and the returning cast includes Judah Lewis, Bella Thorne, Robbie Amell, Hana Mae Lee, Andrew Bachelor, and Ken Marino.

The sequel will take place “two years after Cole (Lewis), who defeated a satanic cult led by his babysitter, is trying to forget his past and focus on surviving high school. But when old enemies unexpectedly return, he will once again have to outsmart the forces of evil.”

Jenna shared the news on Instagram with the caption, “Good morning.”

It was also recently announced that Jenna Ortega will play Jennifer Garner‘s daughter in another Netflix film, Yes Day!

The sci-fi flick stars Jack Gore, Miya Cech, Benjamin Flores Jr., Alessio Scalzotto and Andrew Bachelor, and will debut on May 24th.

Here’s the official summary: Summer camp at Rim of the World has barely begun when four misfit teenagers — Alex, ZhenZhen, Dariush, and Gabriel — find they’ve got bigger problems to face than learning how to canoe and climb ropes when aliens suddenly invade the planet.

Alone in a campground once teeming with people, the kids are unexpectedly entrusted with a key that carries the secret to stopping the invasion. Without any adults or electronics to help guide the way, it’s clear what they must do: band together, conquer their fears, and save the world.

The trio attended the special screening and after-party held at Arclight Cinemas Culver City on Thursday (August 16) in Culver City, Calif.

They were joined by their co-stars Israel Broussard, Noah Centineo, Andrew Bachelor, Emilija Baranac, Jordan Burtchett, Trezzo Mahoro, director Susan Johnson, and Jenny Han, who wrote the best-selling YA novel the film is based on.

Casper Smart, Rebecca Black, and Alex and Maia Shibutani also stepped out to show their support.
