Aramis Knight looks ready for a fight in this exclusive pic from the Into The Badlands finale, happening Sunday night (December 20) on AMC.
JJJ had the chance to chat with the 16-year-old actor, who plays MK in the series, about the big episode coming up, acting, his friendship with Dylan Sprayberry and more. Check it:
JJJ: You’re good friends with Dylan Sprayberry. Tell us something most people don’t know about him.
Aramis Knight: I don’t think anybody realizes how dope his entire family is. Coming from separated parents, I was never able to fully experience living with my mom and dad. They’ve totally accepted me into their family in every way. I always have their back, and I know they have mine.
JJJ: What can you tell us about Sunday’s season finale? Why should people tune in?
AK: Sunday’s season finale is going to be epic!!!! So many things are revealed that none of the viewers even saw coming. There are so many twists and turns. “Saddle up, it’s war”.
JJJ: Your show has two Asian leads, which is a very rare thing. You’ve also praised AMC for casting young people in roles of real power, like Kiernan Shipka in Mad Men. Why do you think other networks struggle with this?
AK: This show is revolutionary in so many ways. Not only bringing martial arts back to America, but also casting two Asian American leads. It’s a barrier that should have been broken a long time ago. On top of that, giving Ally Ioannides (Tilda) and I such strong storylines. Glad that AMC, Al and Miles gave me a chance to show my full potential.

Speaking with ET, Chloe confirmed that her Ariel character in The Little Mermaid adaption will not have the red hair, like in the Disney films.
“I want red hair! We’re going with the Hans Christian Andersen novel, so I’ll actually have blond hair,” she shared.
In the Andersen story however, Ariel‘s hair color is never mentioned.

The 16- and 24-year-old actors joined their cast mates to chat about the upcoming AMC series, which debuts next Sunday, November 15th.
Aramis recently opened up about his role of a lifetime: “Roles like this are far and few between for an actor of my age. This is the first project where I’ve been a lead character. Where the success of the show falls on my shoulders somewhat. I am always up for that type of pressure.”
He added, “The show itself is groundbreaking in so many ways. Not only for the martial arts but also for the balance they found between the martial arts and the drama. This is something that hasn’t really been done in a TVseries before and although its so heavily based around martial arts it is very much a character piece in a lot of ways.”
Fresh Off The Boat‘s Hudson Yang is also pictured at the event.
