Arden Cho & Sasha Pieterse To Star in 'Honored' Movie with Meghan Rienks

Two of our fave actresses — Arden Cho and Sasha Pieterse — are teaming up to star in a brand new movie together.

Along with Meghan Rienks and Karreuche Tran, the four will star in Honored, which is described as a “high-school buddy comedy revolving around childhood BFFs.”

According to Variety, the film is being executive produced by Zoe Saldana’s company, Cinestar Pictures and will be directed by Elissa Down.

In Honored, a falling out among four friends leads them grow apart.

By senior year, Piper (Rienks) has turned into the class clown/party girl; Sophie (Tran) pledges to stay a virgin until she’s married and has created a purity app. Isabella (Pieterse) is the feminist femme fatale who’s a zine editor, and while Honor’s (Cho) dream of becoming a professional ballerina is taking off.

When tragedy strikes, the former BFFs reunite and carry out all the stunts from their eighth-grade list – from jailbreaking the school mascot to getting back at bitchy cheerleaders. The girls navigate body shaming, sex, and the high-school party culture, ultimately rediscovering their friendship even if it means saying goodbye forever to someone they love.

The film’s cast also includes Lauren Weedman, Graham Sibley, Ethan Peck and Chris Mason.

Arden Cho Addresses Asian Racism In Eye Opening New Video - Watch!

Arden Cho has just been killing it in her personal YouTube videos lately.

The former Teen Wolf star and singer has talked about the dating game and keeping her life private, and had the most honest reaction to 13 Reasons Why too — and now she’s opening up another important conversation that we all need to have about racism.

In her Arden‘s latest vid, she opens up about the racism she’s experienced and how she’s always asked what she is, complete with assumptions about where she is actually from.

“Since I’ve filmed this video, I’ve been asked if I’m North or South Korean 3 times…” she wrote in the notes section. “I was also told yesterday that I am 100% Japanese, and that there’s no way I’m Korean. Ugh… ignorant people!!”

Arden addresses the racism she faced growing up, too.

“I’ve grown up with racism my entire life,” she shared. “I’ve been bullied, sent to the hospital, beat up, I’ve been called a Chink and a Gook, every single racial slur an Asian person can be called, I’ve been called it.”

This is an important conversation we all need to have. Don’t assume you know where a person comes from just by the way they look…in fact, don’t assume anything. If you want to know more about that person’s heritage, ask nicely. Open a conversation about where you come from first.

Arden Cho Opens About Keeping Her Private Life Private in New Vlog

Arden Cho gets it, like really gets it.

The actress and singer knows all about shipping and online romances, but that’s a part of her life we just won’t hear about — at least not yet; and there’s a good reason behind it.

“I’m fairly open with my life. I’m not really sugar-coated and I don’t pretend to be somebody that I’m not,” Arden says to her fans. “But the one thing that I am private about is my dating life and my romance because that doesn’t involve just me.”

Arden goes on to explain that while a couple may seem perfect in pictures and online, that doesn’t mean they’re actually happy at home — and that’s something she wants.

“Whenever I’m at a point where I’m ready to share something or having a family and having babies, you’re probably going to hear about it,” she laughs.

13 Reasons Why debuted at the end of March on Netflix, however, Arden Cho has just been so busy with her music and her acting jobs that it’s only now she’s gotten a chance to binge watch the series.

The former Teen Wolf actress recorded a reaction video after finishing the series and it’s the most honest thing we have ever watched.

“I haven’t even digested the whole show. All I know was that it was really hard to watch,” Arden shares. “It made me feel sick and sad and…”

Arden goes on to reveal that she had gone through a depressing period in her life.

“There was a point in my life where I would wake up and cry, and then wash my face and cry. I would just go back and lay in bed because there was no point in getting ready because I was just going to cry again.”

Arden Cho Chopped Off Her Hair & No, It's Not An April Fool's Day Joke

Arden Cho Chopped Off Her Hair & No, It's Not An April Fool's Day Joke

Arden Cho really did cut her hair!

The former Teen Wolf star and singer has had long hair for forever, so when she shared the first pics (shot by Raul Romo) of her new short hair, we actually thought she was jumping the gun on April Fool’s Day and joking — but she’s definitely not.

“I spontaneously chopped off my locks a couple weeks ago,” Arden confessed on her blog.

“I had a few shoots back to back and was getting really bored of my long hair. I knew I had this shoot coming up with Raul so I figured it was the perfect time for a change.”

She added, “I didn’t tell anyone I was cutting my hair. After I chopped it off, I met my friends for dinner, one of my best girl friends walked in and just kept looking at me.”

“She even took off her glasses, rubbed her eyes and continued looking at me from a distance. She was legitimately confused, it wasn’t until I waved her down that she realized it was me!”

Former ‘Teen Wolf’ Star Arden Cho Bites Back at Asian Stereotypes With Stunning New Shoot

You guys, don’t call someone yellow. It’s racist, hurtful and such a dumb thing to say in the first place.

Unfortunately, many of our fave Asian actors have dealt with that kind of racism for their entire lives and Arden Cho just bit back with possibly the best essay and coolest photo shoot ever.

“Someone once told me I shouldn’t wear yellow because I’m yellow and it’s not going to be flattering on me,” she writes — UM, WHAT?!

Arden continues, “I think I might disagree. I might actually like yellow on me. Sometimes it’s best to take someone else’s opinion with a grain of salt.”

“I’m working on listening to myself more and caring less about the opinion of others. Especially when it’s racist, I’m not actually yellow. I think I hear things like this so often it doesn’t even phase me anymore. I don’t think that’s a good thing, it shouldn’t be normal.”

Arden, and other Asian actors, shouldn’t have to hear this at all!

But, she’s looking past the comments and embracing herself as she is…which is gorgeous and amazing.

“Took me 30 years to be comfortable in my own skin and most my life I felt like I was an alien. I never felt like I fit in or I belonged. I’m not sure when that started to change but I know the last few years have been about embracing who I am. Loving myself, even the flaws.

“Don’t judge yourself because you’re different.”
