The 20-year-old actress poses with her rescue pup, Annie, in the advertisement that reads “Adopt Your New Best Friend.”
“Annie became a member of my family when I was 13. I really, really wanted a dog,” she shared. “I told my mom—I was like, ‘I don’t want a party. I don’t need to hang out with my friends. I just really want to adopt a dog.’”
Ashley added, “No matter what, at the end of the day I know that I’m gonna go home and she’s just gonna show me so much love. You have to take them to the vet. You have to get them groomed, feed them, give them water—it’s a lot of work. Just make sure that when you get a dog, that you’re ready for the responsibility.”
The Disney starlets have both landed leads in How to Build a Better Boy, which is set to premiere in 2014.
How to Build A Better Boy follows high school sophomores Mae (Berglund) and Gabby (McClain), two tech-savvy best friends who devise a plan to create the perfect boyfriend with just a few strokes of the keyboard and a wireless connection.
What Gabby and Mae don’t realize is that the computer they use is set up to generate a robotic super soldier, which they have inadvertently activated in the form of Albert (Marshall Williams), a macho yet sensitive super cute boy.
