Ashley Tisdale Joins Jean-Luc Bilodeau As Series Regular In 'Carol's Second Act'

Ashley Tisdale has lined up a second series regular role!

The actress, singer and producer has joined Carol’s Second Act as Jenny, the daughter of Patricia Heaton‘s character, Carol.

“I am BEYOND excited about this!! Being a fan of yours for years and now getting the opportunity to be your daughter in this show is SO exciting!! Thank you for this ❤️,” she tweeted in response to Patricia, who said, “I’m so excited to welcome @ashleytisdale to my new show , #CarolsSecondAct on @CBS ! So talented, so sweet, so funny, so normal!”

Jenny is “a pharmaceutical rep and covers Carol’s hospital. Jenny loves and is supportive of her mom, and her bubbly and outgoing personality and carefree spirit is a buoyant counterpoint to Carol’s neurotic medical colleagues,” Deadline reports.

Ashley is taking over the role that was previously played by Bonnie Dennison in the show’s pilot episode. Jean-Luc Bilodeau also stars in the show.

In addition to the new role on Carol’s Second Act, Ashley is also a series regular on the upcoming Netflix show Merry Happy Whatever alongside Bridgit Mendler.

Is Ashley Tisdale going to pull an Ariana Grande and drop another album right after her last one?

The 33-year-old Merry Happy Whatever actress and singer just released her new album Symptoms earlier this month, and is right back in the studio.

“Don’t you wish you could hear it with out the filter 😂 #newmusic @scotstewart @itsrachelwest,” she teased on Instagram.

One user commented asking, “Didnt you just drop an album though 😳😳”

“Doesn’t mean you aren’t inspired and still in the studio.. can’t stop won’t stop!” she replied.

We think a new album will have to wait awhile as Ashley also just started work on her new Netflix show Merry Happy Whatever!

Congratulations to Ashley Tisdale!

The “Voices In My Head” singer woke up on Saturday morning (May 4) to her new album Symptoms at number three on the iTunes pop chart.

“Someone wake me up I think I’m still dreaming!! Still at #3 on the US pop charts sitting next to my hero @pink at #1! And at #14 on the all genre charts! This is insane!! It’s been 10years u guys and I don’t have major label support. This is all because of you guys. I love every single one of you! @symptoms #symptoms,” she wrote on Instagram.

Ashley released the album the day before as an independent artist without the help of a record label.

“This experience has been a lot of fun and I’ve really gotten to know myself as an artist. It was also very healing for me,” she said in a new interview with Forbes. “This album is a piece of me, verses when I was younger, I didn’t know who I was as an artist.”
