Elena of Avalor is getting a lot of star power in it’s upcoming third season!
It was just announced that Descendants‘ Sofia Carson and Moana‘s Auli’i Cravalho are joining the voice cast in guest star roles.
Season 3 will include events for Dia de los Muertos and Hanukkah, which will guest star Jamie-Lynn Sigler as a visiting princess from a Latino Jewish kingdom.
There will also be a coronation special for Elena, airing in 2020!

The former Shadowhunters star joined The Little Mermaid concert star Auli’i Cravalho for the play.
Latin History of Morons was inspired by the near total absence of Latinos from his son’s American history books and follows John Leguizamo on an outrageously funny, frenzied search to find a Latin hero for his son’s school project.

The two Disney Princess actresses celebrated the 30th anniversary of The Little Mermaid together and promoted the upcoming concert special, where Auli’i will be performing as Ariel.
During the panel event, Auli’i opened up about how Jodi gave her advice during the last D23 about how portraying a Disney princess would open doors and then asked for even more.

The 18-year-old actress dished about the 19-year-old actress being cast in the lead role of the upcoming The Little Mermaid live action remake.
“Oh, I can’t wait to see her and congratulate her,” she told ET. “Yeah I think there’s so much room for so many different types of Ariels and so many mermaids. I’m so honored to be able to lend my voice and my interpretation of Ariel and I cannot wait to see Halle‘s.”
“I’m so incredibly honored to be able to play one Disney princess that went beyond the reef and now to play another that goes under the sea, I am… My mind is blown!” she added. “So, we get to pay homage and appreciate the original animation and then we have live performances that are gonna be spectacular with not only me, thankfully, getting to play Ariel, but also Queen Latifah as Ursula and Shaggy as Sebastian. C’mon!”
Auli’i Cravalho just can’t stop smiling while arriving for Variety’s 2019 Power of Young Hollywood event held at The H Club Los Angeles on Tuesday night (August 6) in Los Angeles.

Auli’i Cravalho will be playing the role of Ariel in an upcoming live concert production of The Little Mermaid, which will air on ABC in the fall!
The 18-year-old actress is best known for voicing the title character in Disney’s animated movie Moana and for her starring role on the NBC series Rise.
Queen Latifah will be playing Ursula and reggae singer Shaggy has been cast as Sebastian.
The live event will happen in front of a studio audience and it will air on Tuesday, November 5 at 8pm. The special will interweave the live performances with clips from the animated movie. Music from the Broadway stage version of the musical will be included.
A live concert production of The Little Mermaid has been staged at the Hollywood Bowl two times so far, with Sara Bareilles and Lea Michele leading the casts. The film played on a big screen and whenever a song happened, the film would pause and the actors would come out on stage to perform the number.
There’s also a live film adaptation starring Halle Bailey in the works!
