Disney has just announced many of it’s upcoming movies’ release dates are being delayed!
A huge part of this shift is due to the ongoing writer’s strike, which has been going on for over a month, and has caused many productions to shut down.
Currently, the Thunderbolts and Blade movies are both waiting out the strike, according to Deadline. Then, several other upcoming Marvel films don’t have completed scripts yet, and those of course, won’t be finished until the WGA and the studios reach an agreement.
Other Walt Disney Company movies that are getting delayed release dates include the upcoming Avatar sequels, Star Wars movies, and more, plus the live action Moana has actually been given a release date!

Avatar: The Way of Water took so long to film that Jack Champion, who plays Spider in the movie, grew up on set and he can see the difference in his looks throughout different scenes.
The 18-year-old actor was only 12 years old when he landed the coveted role in the movie. He was between 14 and 16 while filming!
In a new interview with THR, Jack was asked if it feels like a “time capsule” to watch the movie now.
“In a way, yes. In every scene I see myself in, I remember how I felt on that day. So it is kind of a time capsule, but at the same time, I can also turn that off and just get lost in my enjoyment of the movie and story. So it’s cool to see my teenage years onscreen, but I can still get immersed in the world of Pandora,” he said.
