Let’s be real here, Bea Miller‘s ‘S.L.U.T.’ jumped to the top of your playlist and you can’t seem to get it off repeat, right? Because that’s exactly what happened to us.
The song was actually inspired by an Instagram hater.
Wearing a bodysuit, with no bra, and a white skirt on a hot day at the studio, Bea posted a cute pic on her Instagram.
“It was hot, and I wasn’t wearing a bra, which I thought was perfectly acceptable,” she shared, noting, “I have little baby boobs.” That’s when troll online called her a slut.
Bea remembers, “I lost it. I was ranting and ranting. How could a girl tell another girl not to wear a bra? Women should support each other…and I don’t understand what the problem is with nipples.”
The acronym for the song title came from a post on Urban Dictionary, and means “Sweet Little Unforgettable Thing”.
“I thought, that’s amazing, and we wound up writing a fantastic song that was also a cool and funny response to this girl.”
Bea Miller just debuted her third installment of songs, Chapter 3: Yellow, and all of the songs are ones you need to hear.
“I was determined not to make chapter 3: yellow corny,” the songstress shares about her new collection. “I didn’t want to say, ‘Once you face a problem and deal with it, everything will be amazing.’ That’s not how life works.”
She adds, “The cycle keeps repeating itself. But hopefully you’re better prepared to go through life with a more positive outlook.”
If you didn’t know, Bea sees music in color, but one of the songs on yellow, is a but more “orange”.
“I’d been frustrated for a long time,” Bea adds. “I had all these feelings piling up that made me feel scared to be myself, because I felt nobody would like who I really was. I think we all go through that at some point.”
The Beatles‘ iconic song “All You Need is Love” is having an anniversary, and Billboard is celebrating it with all of your favorite artists in one gorgeous video.
Singer Bea Miller has a smile that lights up the room — but she definitely hasn’t always felt that way.
“i never post any pictures that were captured in moments i felt truly happy because i’m always insecure about my smile (i hate my teeth),” the 18-year-old “Warmer” singer revealed in a new Instagram post, “but it’s okay! love yourself! especially when you’re happy and glowing!”
Alongside her candid note is a gorgeous photo of herself smiling big, teeth and all, and she looks like she’s practically radiating with joy.
A quick scan through her Instagram account proves that what she said is true; she never posts smiling photos showing her teeth. We’re so glad she finally did, and so are her fans.
“You have a beautiful smile,” one wrote.
“I feel the same way about mine,” another admitted.
Bea Miller drops by the Elvis Duran Show in New York City on Friday morning (August 17).
The multi-talented singer performed one of her songs for the radio show after talking about her music that she’s been releasing all year long.
Speaking with Billboard earlier, Bea opened up about how she decided to release her new stuff in chapters.
“I have synesthesia,” she says, “which is when you see music in color. That’s why I’ve been using the colors because whenever we decided that we were going to release the music in chapters, rather than all at once, I was thinking, ‘well how do we take this farther? how do we expand on this and make it more creative?’”
Bea continues that the colors we chosen based on moods and emotions, rather than just choosing them because they’re primary colors.
“I was thinking…and it’s not 100 percent, but I’m thinking I wanted it (to be titled) something like Spectrum,” she adds about the title of the album.
“In the same sense the three primary colors can make any color on the spectrum, you need to experience emotions – the sadness, the loneliness from Chapter One, and the anger and empowerment in Chapter Two, and then the happiness and just trying to figure out and learn from your mistakes in Chapter Three – in order to be the best version of yourself that you can be.”
