The social media star and her sister have been staying mostly under the radar (except for attending a Fourth of July event) since their parents Lori and Mossimo Giannulli were charged for their alleged role in the scandal in March.
“The story regarding these two individuals is false,” a representative from Bella‘s sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, told People on Thursday (August 1). “Bella Giannulli remains an active member of the Delta Tau chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma.”
Olivia, however, was not kicked out because she was reportedly never a Kappa to begin with. “[She] did not complete the membership process,” the representative added.
Earlier this week, the sisters broke their social media silence to wish Lori a happy birthday. See Olivia‘s post here and Bella‘s here.
Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli have pled not guilty to all charges. Olivia Jade and Bella Giannulli have not been charged in connection with the scheme, and it is not certain whether they were aware of their parents’ alleged actions.

The social media star and her older sister were seen walking into the event on Thursday (July 4) in Malibu, Calif.
Olivia showed off her toned torso in a blue crop top with matching pants and white sneakers, and Bella donned a red polka-dot dress with black and white boots.
You won’t be seeing Olivia Jade on social media for quite a while, it seems.
During a new vlog, Tana Mongeau revealed that the 19-year-old beauty influencer is vowing to stay off social media for up to a year, following her parents’ college admissions scam.
“She openly tells me ‘I’m not going to post on social media for a year’,” Tana shared, before she Shane Dawson, Ryland Adams and friend Morgan chat about the college scandal.
Olivia has been out of the spotlight since her parents, actress Lori Loughlin and designer Massimo Giannulli, were indicted on charges in the college admissions scam.
The 19-year-old influencer is reportedly “in communication” with Lori and her dad, Massimo Giannulli, a month after the two were named in the nationwide college admissions scandal.
“Olivia was angry with her parents at first, but now realizes that they were just trying to do what’s best for her,” a source explained. “Olivia loves her mom and dad very much, but is especially close with Lori.”
Olivia is “focusing on how to turn this around”, the source adds.
Meanwhile, sister Bella, who left Instagram a few weeks ago, has returned to the platform. However, comments are still turned off and she hasn’t updated since January.
If you remember, Olivia and Bella‘s parents were accused and arrested for paying $500,000 to ensure them a spot at USC.
