Bethany Hamilton is set to tie the knot with her boyfriend of one year Adam Dirks!
The 23-year-old pro surfer announced the exciting news on her blog on Tuesday (May 7).
“The first thing we did was jump off a cliff together!” she wrote of first meeting him. “And you could say it was love at first cliff jump. We started hanging out often. Just as friends – hiking, beach, tennis, hanging with friends – getting to know each other! The more time we spent together the more I liked Adam.”
“I was stoked when I asked Bethany‘s parents blessing to ask her hand in marriage,” Adamwrote of his April 9th proposal. “They were overjoyed and gave their permission! My parents and family were also in approval!”

The 22-year-old pro surfer will be competing against Jersey Shore star JWoww, actress Alexandra Paul, Kim Richards, Kyle Richards, David Chokachi, former NFL player Terrell Owens and actor Antonio Sabator Jr. in the new FOX program.
Based on a long-running German format, the special will test eight celebrities in the diving world. They must complete a crash-course in diving techniques, overseen by renowned diving coaches and after an intense training period, they will compete in a series of Olympic-style dives, including solo high diving and synchronized diving, from a variety of heights.
“Chlorine is just awful! Will not miss it…” Bethany tweeted last month. Can’t wait to see her dives!

AnnaSophia Robb stops by The Rooftop at the NoMad Hotel for Feast or Fashion dinner with Rachel Roy in New York City on Sunday night (September 9).
The 18-year-old Carrie Diaries star, who wore a Rachel Roy dress and a pair of Stuart Weitzman heels, rubbed elbows with the designer, Padma Lakshmi and Natasha Bedingfield, among others for the event.
Hosted by Bon Appétit magazine, forty VIP guests sat at a long banquet table decorated with fresh dahlias and feasted on lobster minestrone and slow cooked chicken with chanterelles & black truffle, prepared by chef de cuisine, Abram Bissell. Yum!
Earlier in the evening, AnnaSophia was spotted at Cantor Fitzgerald & BGC Partners’ annual charity day which benefited over 100 charities worldwide. There, she ran into friend and surfer Bethany Hamilton.

The twosome met up there before hitting the stage to present an award.
While Brittany was rooting for BFF Sophia Bush to take home an award (which she did), Bethany tweeted about meeting up with Justin Bieber backstage, “Mahalo @JustinBieber for being so sweet and taking a pic with me! God Bless.”
