Bethany Mota Only Splurges On Staple Pieces For Her Closet

Bethany Mota Only Splurges On Staple Pieces For Her Closet

We’re all guilty of this — getting that paycheck and then pretty much blowing it on stuff we don’t need or stuff that we do, but it doesn’t last.

Bethany Mota recently spoke with Money mag about the things she splurges on and it’s the key to an amazing closet.

“I only really splurge on items that are staple pieces, like a pair of jeans or even just a basic T-shirt that I know I’m going to want to wear in the years to come,” she shared.

Bethany adds, “That’s when I’ll splurge on something that’s higher quality. All of my expensive pieces tend to be very basic. They’re all neutral colors—like a black bag. But if it’s something more trendy and I may only want to wear a few times, I’ll get the cheaper version.”

What’s the most expensive thing Bethany‘s ever bought? A Céline black structured bag — and yes, she still uses it!

“I’ve had it for like four years. I use it when I travel as an overnight bag—it carries everything—and it’s still in amazing shape.”

Bethany Mota Reveals The Hardest Part About Starting Her YouTube Channel

Bethany Mota is all about taking leaps of faith and not letting your fears define you.

The YouTuber and author, who is pictured at YouTube Space in London on Friday (June 30), spoke to Money mag about facing big fears and trusting yourself.

“It’s just about taking the first step,” Bethany says. “That was the hardest part about starting my YouTube channel. After I uploaded the first video, the second, third, and fourth ones became easier, because I allowed myself to make that first step.”

She adds, “You can build things up in your head to be so scary, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t go for it. When you’re not doing something that scares you, you’re not growing and you’re not learning.”

Bethany Mota Opens Up About Being Bullied & Accepting Her Body in a New Interview

Bethany Mota Opens Up About Being Bullied & Accepting Her Body in a New Interview

Youtube star Bethany Mota‘s new memoir, Make Your Mind Up (watch the announcement here), delves into both her ups and her downs over the years, and in a new interview, Bethany gets real about some of the struggles she has been through.

“It was when Myspace was around,” the 21-year-old recalled to Entertainment Tonight in a Facebook Live interview, revealing that when she was young, bullies made a Myspace page identical to hers but “all of the photos had mean captions.”

She was only 12 at the time.

“I was never like, ‘Oh maybe I need to lose weight, maybe I need to go on a diet,’” she said, “Those thoughts had never crossed my mind until that point so that’s kind of when I lost that innocence.”

Reliving all of that pain to write the memoir was difficult for her: “I started feeling those feelings again and I started just remembering exactly what that felt like and it wasn’t a good time, it was a dark time and it was a little scary.”

Fortunately, she overcame her demons — in terms of both bullies and pressure to look a certain way to be accepted — and now she is focused on being healthy and strong.

Bethany Mota is currently touring the entire country promoting her first ever book, “Make Your Mind Up” and by watching her Instagram Stories, she’s having a blast.

But did you know that there’s also an audiobook?!

JJJ is really excited that the digital influencer is narrating the audiobook too!

“It was important to me to record the audiobook because I felt like this gave me an opportunity to be even more vulnerable with my viewers,” Bethany shares.

She adds, “Writing this book in general has caused me to be very personal and I feel like actually recording it, gives me the opportunity to tell my viewers the story in an even more personal way.”
