Darren Criss Celebrates 'Dear Evan Hansen' Off-Broadway Opening!

Darren Criss is dapper in a suit while arriving at the Off-Broadway opening celebration of Dear Evan Hansen held at the Second Stage Theatre on (May 1) in New York City.

The 29-year-old actor was joined at the event by Betsy Wolfe, as well as star-writer of the play Ben Platt and the rest of his co-stars.

Dear Evan Hansen is described as follows: “All his life Evan Hansen has felt invisible. To his peers, to the girl he loves, sometimes even to his own mother. But that was before he wrote the letter – that led to the incident� that started the lie – that ignited a movement � that inspired a community – and changed Evan’s status from the ultimate outsider into the somebody everyone wants to know. But how long can Evan keep his secret? And at what price?”

Broadway Vet Betsy Wolfe Cast as Elsa for 'Frozen' Musical

Congrats to Betsy Wolfe!

The 33-year-old Broadway veteran, who’s known for her roles in Bullets Over Broadway and Everyday Rapture, will be starring at Queen Elsa in the upcoming Frozen musical on Broadway.

The musical will be directed by Alex Timbers and is set to hit the Broadway stage at the St. James Theatre in spring 2018 after the premiere in 2017 in Denver, Colorado.

Betsy‘s casting reunites her with Robert and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who she worked with on Up Here in San Diego in 2015.
