Ariana Grande Becomes First Artist with Four #1 Debuts on Hot 100!

Ariana Grande has broken a big Billboard Hot 100 record with her new number one song, “Rain On Me.”

The 26-year-old singer just earned her fourth number one debut on the chart, which is a new record. All of her number one songs have debuted in that spot.

“Rain On Me” is Ari‘s collaborator Lady Gaga‘s fifth number one song and she has broken the record for the longest span between number one debuts.

Gaga‘s previous number one debut was back in February 2011 with “Born This Way,” which means it has been nine years, three months, and one week since her last number one debut. The previous longest span was held by Justin Bieber at four years and five months.

Newcomer rapper Roddy Rich earned his first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week and “Yummy” debuted in second place.

Roddy Rich‘s debut album Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial also just went back to number one on the Billboard 200 album chart. This makes him the first artist since Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper had the number one on both charts at the same time in March 2019.

Justin‘s song “Yummy” is number one on the Digital Song Sales chart with 71,000 copies sold and it launches at number two on the Streaming Songs chart with 29.3 million streams for the week.

This is the best sales week for a song since Taylor Swift‘s “You Need to Calm Down” sold 79,000 copies in June 2019.

Selena Gomez just achieved her first number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and she is reacting to the news!

The 27-year-old singer posted to Instagram Stories and wrote, “WHAT?! Omg!! Thank you SO much Billboard for a first for me!! I’m so grateful.”

She added, “Thank you guys for streaming and committing to this song! It means the world to me! This song has my whole heart.”

Selena went to the top of the chart with her new song “Lose You to Love Me” for its first full week of tracking, according to Billboard.

The song was number 15 on the chart last week after it was released on a Wednesday instead of the traditional Friday release for music.

Selena‘s previous peak on the Hot 100 was number five with her songs “Good for You” in 2015 and “Same Old Love” in 2016. She made her first appearance on the Hot 100 in 2009 with “Tell Me Something I Don’t Know.”

This is Shawn‘s first time at number on on the chart and Camila‘s second following “Havana.”

Billie‘s song “Bad Guy” is number one after spending the past nine weeks at number two. Lil Nas X‘s song “Old Town Road” is now at number three on the Hot 100 and Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello‘s collaboration “Senorita” has moved up to number two.

Rounding at the top five this week are Lizzo‘s “Truth Hurts” at number four and Khalid‘s “Talk” at number five.

Billie Eilish‘s “Bad Guy” is at number two for a ninth week and it’s one week away from tying the record for most weeks peaking at number two.
