“I’ve had to play it so many times now, which can be exhausting,” Birdyrecently shared3 about being asked to play her cover of Bon Iver‘s “Skinny Love”.
She added, “But also I love the song and I loved it when I covered it, and I’m a huge Bon Iver fan so it’s still a special song – and I’ll probably be playing it for quite a long time anyway.”
Birdy has dropped her brand new album, Beautiful Lies.
“This is my coming of age record,” the 19-year-old English singer shared. “I’ve learned so much in the last few years and have been able to use the many experiences � good and bad – as inspiration when writing this album.”
Birdy added, “This is the album that I’ve been able to steer most confidently and proudly, from the writing to the production to the artwork. A lot of the album is about finding light in the dark and overcoming the times when we feel completely lost.”

The song “is important to me because it is the most intimate moment on this album. This song is about a special time in your life that you wish could last forever,” she dished to TeenVogue about the track. “[It's] about not accepting change, and knowing it has to happen but pretending it won’t.”
