The cast rang in the taping of the milestone episode with a massive sneaker-shaped cake on set at The Walt Disney Studios on Thursday (August 23) in Los Angeles.

The news dropped that Yara Shahidi will be starring in the Black-ish spin-off, College-ish, back in May — but it turns out the show’s not going to be adopting that name after all!
In a new interview with BlackTreeTV, creator Kenya Barris revealed that the name has changed.
“It’s now called Grown-ish,” he explained. “We start the writer’s room Monday. Me and Yara have been in casting, looking for the best, brightest and newest faces. We have some people that we’re really excited about. She is amazing, she’s been my partner on this and it’s great.”
We can’t wait to watch Grown-ish, and find out which new faces Yara and Kenya discovered!
The Black-ish spinoff starring Yara Shahidi might have found a new home.
While the show has not yet officially been picked up yet, it has been reported that the spinoff will be heading to Freeform instead of on ABC.
Yara stars on Black-ish as Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Rainbow (Tracee Ellis Ross)’s daughter Zoey Johnson. The spinoff series would follow Zoey as she heads off to college.
Earlier this spring, a pilot episode aired on ABC and was received well by viewers, but the show would fit in better with Freeform’s millennial demographic, Deadline reports.
Black-ish has already been picked up for a fourth season on ABC.
In “Who’s Afraid of the Big Black Man?”, after a situation arises at work, Dre’s (Anthony Anderson) views are confronted regarding how black people are perceived now versus when he grew up. He wants to be more open-minded about being a part of his community, and his first step is joining his Homeowners’ Association.
Meanwhile, Bow wants to spend more time with the kids before the new baby arrives and gets advice from Pops (Laurence Fishburne) on how to make them want to be around her.
