The three stars still are keeping their group text chat with Cameron alive and they sent sweet messages to him moments before the movie premiered on Friday night (August 2).
“I love you so much,” Sofia and Dove both wrote. Boo Boo added, “I love you so much too.”
“It’s hard when there are no adequate words to express the pain we are all feeling, but the usual text is ‘love you.’ Or ‘are you eating?’ Or ‘how are we all today?’” she said. “I think something like this horrible loss makes you realize how important you are all to each other. I am grateful for my chosen family at a time like this.”
We’re just a week away from the premiere of Disney’s Descendants!
The network just revealed the FIRST SIX MINUTES of the film and it’s making JJJ even more excited!
Descendants centers on Prince Ben (Mitchell Hope), son of Beast and Belle, who declares that he will offer a chance at redemption to Mal (Dove Cameron), Evie (Sofia Carson), Carlos (Cameron Boyce) and Jay (Boo Boo Stewart), the teenage sons and daughters of Disney’s most infamous villains — Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella de Vil and Jafar.
But are these villainous descendants rotten to the core?
But, the villainous parents see this as an opportunity to use their children to carry out an evil plan that will finally free them all from the Isle of the Lost…we can’t wait to see what will happen!
Descendants premieres on Friday, July 31st @ 8PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.
The new trailer shows even more new scenes with the children of the most feared villains — Mal (Dove Cameron), Evie (Sofia Carson), Carlos and Jay — plus goes inside Auradon Prep, where the foursome are invited to attend school, thanks to the soon-to-be-King, Prince Ben (Mitchell Hope).

Jay and Carlos just transferred to the new school along with their Isle of the Lost friends Mal (Dove Cameron) and Evie (Sofia Carson), who were spotted taking a cooking class with Lonnie (Dianne Doan). We’re not gonna be touching that recipe with a fifty foot pole…
Soon to be King, Prince Ben (Mitchell Hope) just opened up the doors to the kingdom and invited the four to attend the prestigious academy — alongside the other teenage children of the people their parents used to terrorize. That’s gonna be fun, right?
Stay tuned to see the premiere of Shawn Mendes‘ new video for “Believe” off the Descendants soundtrack!
