Earlier today, Netflix announced that 13 Reasons Why had been renewed for a third season.
Some fans are excited and interested in continuing the stories of Liberty High, as are the cast of the series too.
Justin Prentice, Brandon Butler, Timothy Granaderos, Anne Winters and more have all recently opened up about what they’d like to see in the next season.
“It’s a question of, is there more story to tell, do we want to see these kids not only continue to recover, but, how do they bring forward into their lives the thing they’ve learned about what they’ve been through?” showrunner Brian Yorkey shared during the recent FYSee event.
He added, “The rest of the story is about young people, as so many young people, maybe all young people today (learn) how to heal from the things that have hurt them…to make the world that they want it to be, not just the world they are inheriting…and above all, how to take care of each other.”

Scott Reed almost wasn’t Scott Reed in 13 Reasons Why.
Actor Brandon Butler admitted to Seventeen that he actually auditioned for a completely different role – Alex!
“I actually first auditioned for the role of Alex when the show was in the auditioning process back in 2016,” he shared. “Ever since then I followed up on the show and watched all of season 1 on Netflix and became a fan of it myself.”
Brandon also opened up on Scott’s story arc and finding out that he wasn’t as bad a guy as he thought he would be.
“At first, I was pretty surprised Scott would turn on Monty in episode 12. I had a discussion early on with [showrunner] Brian Yorkey and he told me that Scott actually wasn’t a bad guy like Bryce, so I at least was conscious of that while filming,” he shared.
“I was learning who he was as we got the scripts over the course of filming. I’m glad that Scott did the right thing in the end.”
Brandon also says that being one of the new actors on set for season two wasn’t as scary as you’d think and it’s all because the OG cast are the friendliest people ever.
“I will admit I was a little anxious and nervous coming into it, but everyone was so welcoming, which made the experience that much more special to me,” he shared.

Alisha Boe, Anne Winters and Ajiona Alexus step out in style for the Netflix FYSee Kick Off Party held at Raleigh Studios on Sunday night (May 6) in Los Angeles.
The three 13 Reasons Why stars joined a ton of their cast mates at the event, including Steven Silver, Miles Heizer, Tommy Dorfman, and Ross Butler.

13 Reasons Why season two is set to debut next Friday, May 18th on Netflix.
