5SOS just wrapped up the European leg of their world tour. They will be heading to the United States this weekend to kick off the US leg of their tour.

“If you don’t know, we (5sos) have taken the past 3 and a half months off to really gather ourselves, and to find where we sit in amongst a normal(-ish) life,” Michael wrote in another Instagram, telling fans that new stuff is on the way after the guys took a much needed vacation.
He adds, “As you can imagine touring for 5 years straight can take a toll on you mentally and physically. and it’s funny, because I even remember our own supporters were telling us that we needed to take a break, because you know us so well that you could literally see it on our faces.”
“To every single one of the people who support 5sos, I absolutely cannot be more excited for the future,” Michael added. “I really do think that our third album is going to be the best of anything we’ve done before.”
The two musicians had been writing together in the past weeks, which Ashton shared on his Instagram.
“Love to all the humans. I’m at home hangin with @calumhood and writing all the songs for next year,” he captioned with a cute pic, before sharing more with Calum as they hung out with other friends.
Just yesterday, Ashton headed home to Australia for the holiday season.
“It’s as if the second I set foot on an airplane my brain vomits a years worth of ideas. It’s nice to meet you again pretty words,missed you,” he joked on Twitter.
Ashton added, “I still think It’s so sweet you guys still come and see us at the airport, good to see some familiar faces!”

The guys — Ashton Irwin, Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, and Calum Hood — had a little party on social media over the weekend with fans, and ended the night with a new b-sides and rarities Spotify playlist!
“5 years of @5SOS…” Ashton started out on Twitter. “I love to say this and some of you hate to hear it which I love… but we ain’t going NOWHERE, endless love for you all.”
Michaeladds, “happy 5 years to 5SOS. very lucky to be able to spend each day with the 2 nicest guys I know and Calum.”
Calum shared: “Happy birthday to my one and only true love; 5 seconds of summer. Thankyou for supporting us… Some of you since day one. Eternally grateful. I love you. The 3rd album is going to bangin too by the way.”
“This was at our second birthday, our band is now a small child at 5 years old. Thank you for all your support, here…” Lukefinished out with a cute throwback pic.
Speaking of swoon-worthy, Internet personality Grayson Dolan totally delivered. “Australia is allowing me to be the little jungle boy I’ve always wanted to be … Shot by @sam_dameshek,” he wrote.
Ashton Irwin cheeses it up during a group shot at the 5 Seconds of SummerSoundcheck Party on SiriusXM Hits 1 at The Forum on Wednesday (September 7) in Inglewood, Calif.
“It was really scary for us,” Michael shared with the Sacramento Bee recently. “When we started that tour in 2013, no one knew who we were. We kind of had to build that by getting better and better and better live.”
He added, “It was kind of all we cared about for a long time was just how we could become a better live band, play better and have the audience interact more and stuff like that. But coming back to like this year now, we see how many shows we played on that One-D tour and how much it helped us to like craft our performance into what we wanted it to be.”
