Calvin Harris‘ song “This Is What You Came For” just reached a big milestone in the UK and he is publicly thanking ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift for contributing to the success of the song!
The 32-year-old DJ tweeted his thanks to Tay and the song’s performer Rihanna on Friday (November 4).
The song was just certified 2x platinum in the UK and is the only song this year to do so!
“I am blessed to work with incredible artists @rihanna @taylorswift13 thank you!!!” Calvintweeted.
When the song was released earlier this year, Taylor was credited as a songwriter under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg. After she and Calvin broke up, her rep confirmed that she was the co-writer.
The 26-year-old “Blank Space” entertainer is back on speaking terms with the 32-year-old Scottish DJ, according to TMZ.
Tay and Calvin reportedly started texting and “put an end to their drama.”
Although, it’s unclear who sent the first text, things seem to be cool between them now. But unfortunately, this does not mean that they are back together.
In fact, they allegedly haven’t talked on the phone or seen each other in person. It’s all via text.
The 32-year-old musician posted a video to his Snapchat on Saturday (July 23) where he can be seen singing along to Kanye and ScHoolboy Q‘s recent song “THat Part.”
“Wifey gonna kill me, she the female O.J. Y’all don’t feel me, man, this ain’t OK,” Kanye says in the song, referencing O.J. Simpson, who was a good friend of Kim Kardashian‘s late father, Robert Kardashian.
The lip sync session certainly makes it seem like Calvin is a fan of Kanye but he has yet to release an official statement on the controversy.

After the 26-year-old singer revealed that she co-wrote the song with her ex, Calvinconfirmed that she also sings “a little bit of it too.”
While it hasn’t been confirmed, fans are speculating that Taylor‘s voice can be heard at the 00:18 moment in the song and her voice is repeated throughout the track.

The 32-year-old DJ confirmed that Taylor wrote “This Is What You Came For,” writing, “And she sings on a little bit of it too…Amazing lyric writer and she smashed it as usual…I wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut the vocals though. And initially she wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym.”
“Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though,” Calvin continued. “I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do.”
“I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it,” he wrote. “Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because you’ve earned a great one.”

Taylor Swift‘s rep has confirmed that she wrote Calvin Harris and Rihanna‘s hit “This Is What You Came For” before their breakup.
“Taylor Swift wrote ‘This Is What You Came For’ under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg,” Taylor‘s rep told People.
TMZ reveals that Taylor was upset because Calvin disrespected her when asked if they would ever work together. “You know, we haven’t even spoken about it. I can’t see it happening though,” Calvin said in an interview in April before their breakup. Sources say this was the breaking point in the relationship.
The site also reports that Taylor wrote the song and recorded it on her iPhone while playing piano. Calvin loved it, so they went into the studio and recorded it with Taylor on vocals. Taylor has kept the publishing rights, but doesn’t plan to ban Calvin from performing the song.
