Sofia Carson Is Hesistant About Doing More 'Descendants' Without Cameron Boyce, Too

Much like Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson is also a little hesistant about doing another Descendants movie without Cameron Boyce.

Speaking to ET at the 2019 Latin Grammys this week, the 26-year-old actress and singer stopped to talk about the possibilities.

“The Descendants franchise changed all of our lives. I don’t think any of us can imagine it without Cameron [Boyce],” she shared. “Who knows what the future holds.”

However, that doesn’t mean she’d say no to anything that came up.

“I love Evie,” Sofia added, making it clear that if another possibility arose, she’d love to hear about it.

Dove Cameron Doesn't Want To Do Another 'Descendants' Without Cameron Boyce

Dove Cameron is opening up about the future of the Descendants franchise.

While speaking with ET about her new music, the 23-year-old actress and singer opened up about the possibility of doing more projects within the franchise.

While she’s very excited about the potential for more stories, Dove doesn’t love the idea that Cameron Boyce isn’t there.

“I don’t love the idea of doing it without Cameron, I don’t know what the plot would be and I don’t know what it would look like,” she shared. “But I also love the franchise and I love [director] Kenny [Ortega], and I love Disney and I love that cast. I loved that time in my life.”

With or without her, Dove is looking forward to the next installments, whatever they might be.

Cameron passed away after an epileptic seizure this past July.

Dove Cameron Opens Up About Watching 'Descendants 3' Following Cameron Boyce's Death

Dove Cameron Opens Up About Watching 'Descendants 3' Following Cameron Boyce's Death

The first time Dove Cameron watched Descendants 3, she was wrecked.

The 23-year-old actress opened up about watching the final film of the franchise with her best friend, which happened after Cameron Boyce, who played Carlos in the movies, had passed away.

“I watched it [Descendants 3] for the first time with my best friend, who’s not in the film, and was ruined,” she shared with Yahoo in a new interview. “In light of recent events and in light of it being the last one, and having no premiere, and things like that, my best friend was like, ‘You know, what we’re doing today? You’re going to put on all of your Descendants merch, we’re going to get out your crown, and we’re going to cry and make brownies. And we had a marathon, and I was wrecked. I wrote for ages and mourned the loss of it so much.”

Dove revealed that after watching it in private with her BFF, she also screened it with Booboo Stewart, who plays Jay.

“We kind of looked at each other and were like, ‘Oh, that wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be,” she says. “It feels like Cameron is still here, when you watch it. It wasn’t as painful as we thought … We’ve all been around each other so much more recently than we usually are than when we’re not doing the films. I think it’s felt quite healthy, quite like, everything’s still kind of the same. It’s not. But if we can kind of feel like it is.”

Dove also had some words of advice for fans who are mourning Cameron‘s death still.

“The things that we feel closest to are the things that we feel most seen by sometimes,” she shared. “I know I was that kind of kid, I grew up definitely like, music was my best friend … And for me, music was something I felt close to, something I felt like I knew, a language that I spoke … And I think a lot of people feel that way about characters that they fall in love with.

“They’re like, this is my person, I feel represented by them. I feel like they’re very real to me. And I can understand that.

She continued, “The beautiful thing about things that are created to entertain us and make us feel seen is that they exist actually mostly in our minds, even though we’re watching something or reading something, really the relationship we have with it is in our mind and so the beautiful thing about that is it becomes yours. And so even though these movies might not be happening anymore, those characters are yours, and they’re real to you. And so they can live forever in you.”

BRB, we’re going to binge watch Descendants and cry some more.

Skai Jackson Says It's Not Hard To Continue Cameron Boyce's Legacy

Skai Jackson Says It's Not Hard To Continue Cameron Boyce's Legacy

Skai Jackson holds up her book, “Reach For The Skai: How to Inspire, Empower, and Clapback”, while making an appearance at Build Series on Tuesday (October 1) in New York City.

The 17-year-old actress and now author talked about the decision to write a memoir at a young age, how she got started in acting, and talked about her late friend and co-star Cameron Boyce.

“I’m so grateful I had that time [with him on Jessie], it was five years, a crazy five years,” Skai said on the show. “It was the best thing ever. I got to spend every single day with him, so it was like having a brother, and everyone else included. He was just such a ray of sunshine anytime he came into the room. Anywhere he would go, he would just cheer you up. He was such a lovable person. I’m just so grateful I got to spend those years with him, for sure.”

Skai also talked about keeping his legacy going.

“That was one thing that his family wanted to keep, that we just continue his legacy,” she added. “Which isn’t hard to do, and not a pressured thing. It was just something we really want to do. And The Cameron Boyce Foundation, you can donate to that. And he has a clothing line he was actually going to put out himself, and they dropped some things on that, which is really exciting. We just want to keep his inspiration, everything he wanted to do, and put it out into the world.”

You can now purchase Skai Jackson‘s brand new book “Reach For The Skai: How to Inspire, Empower, and Clapback”, anywhere books are sold!
