Ed Sheeran Says Camila Cabello Changed Almost All The Lyrics on Their Collaboration

When you get to have an Ed Sheeran-written song on your album, you know it’s going to be a really good song.

However, Camila Cabello pretty much changed all the lyrics on hers.

“I was like, I know what I want Camila to do as a singer,” Ed shared in an interview with Hugo Gloss, about their collaboration. But the ideas he had, were definitely changed around.

He adds, “I demoed this song where I sing really high as if I’m a girl, singing all these lyrics about being a girl. I sent it to her. And she kind of took it apart and made it obviously sound like her. She changed 90 percent of the lyrics on it.”

Ed also dished on how, in his mind, Camila and his collab could be as big as Beyonce‘s “Crazy in Love”.

“It’s just sass and big vocals. Camila has a voice that should be really shown off,” Ed said.

Camila
and Ed‘s collab, called “The Boy”, will be featured on her album, hopefully coming out in September.

Camila Cabello Learned To Sing 'I Have Questions' Backwards

Camila Cabello Learned To Sing 'I Have Questions' Backwards

After the 2017 Billboard Music Awards this past weekend, Camila Cabello had a special performance on XFinity that fans could watch.

The singer performed her new song, “I Have Questions” and just revealed a little secret about it all — she actually sang backwards!

“This performance of ‘I Have Questions’ was the first time I’ve ever done anything like this.. I had to literally learn this song backwards because some parts of the song were filmed in reverse in order to have this effect you see here,” Camila shared on Instagram.

She adds, “In the days leading up to the performance, I used this app to learn each word of ‘I Have Questions For You’ backwards, which is basically UYYUNUYSHUFAYA… lmao, it sounded like I was speaking a foreign language. It was the first thing we shot and the audience was like what the heck is she speaking English?!”

Camila Cabello Says Leaving Fifth Harmony Wasn't the 'Safe Option'

Camila Cabello Says Leaving Fifth Harmony Wasn't the 'Safe Option'

Camila Cabello is getting candid about her decision to quit Fifth Harmony.

The 20-year-old “I Have Questions” singer explains her reasoning and how a lot of it had to do with writing her own songs.

“I think that happened to me as I was discovering my voice as an artist,” Camila told Beats 1′s Zane Lowe. “Especially as a songwriter, I just felt like I needed to express that and it was just time to, you know, sing my story and sing words that were coming from my heart as opposed to words that people were writing for us.”

“Obviously, me leaving the group at that point in time when we were really the most successful, is not the safe option, you know what I mean?” Camila said. “The safe thing would’ve been to just stay and keep singing the songs and keep doing the choreography. And who know’s if this is going to be successful for me? Nobody really knows. But I just know that I’m proud of it and I’m so happy to be making music that’s authentic to me and that I’m gonna look back on and be super proud of.”

“I feel like I was always outspoken about loving songwriting, even while I was in the group,” she added. “But I definitely felt like Fifth Harmony, we were all vehicles for the group’s identity. It wasn’t necessarily like a form of self expression. And I feel like being around the people that were crafting these songs for us, I just was really curious about the whole process. And I felt like that, along the way, became my way of just understanding how I felt about situations like my first kiss when I was 16, my first heartbreak when I was 17.”

Camila Cabello Once Ran A One Direction Fan Account on Twitter & Cried When Zayn Quit!

We knew Camila Cabello liked One Direction, we didn’t know how much she liked them!

The 20-year-old former Fifth Harmony member recently revealed that she actually ran a 1D fan account on Twitter!

“I mean, I was like a huge One Direction fan. They were like the reason why I tried out for X-Factor,” Camila told Beats 1′s Zane Lowe. “I cried [when Zayn Malik left the band], not gonna lie. Because it’s the end of an era. It’s the end of an era. And obviously, like I literally – you don’t understand. I had a twitter account for One Direction. Like I was one of those fangirls at one point.”

“So, you know, it’s the end of something that’s really beautiful and inspired so many people,” she added. “It was a dream. Just like Fifth Harmony, the five of us were a dream to our fans and it’s beautiful. So obviously when anything comes to an end, it’s emotional for everybody. But it’s also exciting cause you’re like ‘Okay, what is he like? What does he want to say?’ And I think that’s why him [Zayn] and all the other boys: Niall [Horan], Harry [Styles], Louis [Tomlinson], and Liam [Payne] now coming out it’s like oh, now you get to see who the people were inside that group. And I think that’s just as exciting.”

Ed Sheeran Wrote A Song For Camila Cabello's Album Called 'The Boy'

Camila Cabello just confirmed that she worked with Ed Sheeran on her debut album!

The 20-year-old singer, who is a die-hard Ed fan, revealed that he wrote a song for her.

“Well he actually wrote a song for me, which is really really dope,” Camila told Beats 1′s Zane Lowe. “And so then I went in and re-wrote the lyrics to it and basically added some parts to it.”

“Yeah, so that’s pretty crazy. I seriously have always been his biggest fan and he’s very well aware of that,” she said. “A year ago, I went to his concert. He had a concert in Miami and me and my friend went and I was literally front row rapping all the lyrics to ‘You Need Me, I Don’t Need You.’ And we were like friends at the time, like he invited me to his concert. It must’ve been really weird for me to be like ‘Yeah!’ and then me just be backstage with him and be like, ‘that was really cool.’”

“That one’s called ‘The Boy.’ And it has this very kind of James Brown funky vibe to it,” Camila said. “It’s really really fun cause I feel like, you know, a lot of the songs that I wrote are pretty heavy and pretty emotional. And I feel like that’s like a really fun, lighthearted, sassy.”

She also confirmed collabs with Charli XCX, Pharrell Williams, and Ryan Tedder too!
